In the words of Consequence from Love & Hip-Hop: New York "I will not be disrespected", and that's exactly how Michelle Obama felt after she was heckled at a fundraiser in a private Kalorama home in Northwest Washington. A lesbian activist by the name of Ellen Sturtz interrupted her speech to demand President Obama sign an anti-discrimination executive order. In total displeasure the first lady stopped the speech, and said she would not continue while the woman was speaking. Ouch. Was this rude, or totally on key. How long are these people going to be treated like they are not running our country, shouldn't they demand respect!
Some folks are in an uproar about the way Michelle handled it. Here is what Michelle had to say during the speech:
One of the things that I don’t do well is this. Do you understand?”
Listen to me or you can take the mic, but I’m leaving. You all decide. You have one choice.
Unfortunately for Ellen she was escorted out of the room. Rude, or right on cue?
