Over the weekend, news hit that Mary J. Blige’s charity, “The Mary J. Blige and Steve Stoute Foundation For The Advancement Of Women Now” (FFAWN) was sued by TD Bank for an unpaid loan that was due to be paid off by December. There were also allegations that Blige’s charity had bounced checks and not properly paid for some of the musicians that performed during a celebrity gala. Tuesday, Blige called radio personality Angie Martinez to address FFAWN’s recent financial misuse allegations. During the conversation, she explains,
"I am ultimately responsible for anything that goes wrong. The problem is that I didn’t have the right people in the right places doing the right things. This should have never been allowed to happen, but it did and now we are fixing it.”
Dang Mary, your people have to do better. Your foundation reflects you as a person; be more careful in the people who are working for you next time. I still love you girl!

Is it wrong for Diddy's son to get a full scholarship to college based entirely on his athletic ability. Folks are pissed off everywhere....."UCLA defended its decision to give a full scholarship to P. Diddy’s son Justin Combs. Some argued that the teen should not receive the fund since he has had enough money from his rap mogul father to pay the tuition, but the university through its spokesperson Ricardo Vazquez insisted Justin deserved the scholarship due to his talent in sports. "

Without giving too much away, what is the juiciest part of the book?
There’s a mistress in the book and she’s physically assaulted. I think the readers would be very surprised as to who physically assaulted her. She was a mistress of one of the players of the book. Towards the end, you’ll be like, 'Get the hell out of here,' because you're thinking it’s one person and it ends up being…well, you know.
How was the entire writing process for you? I know it stems from journals, but how did you go in and kind of write it to make it fiction?
I have an amazing co-writer, Courtney Parker, and we would have many conversations on the phone. It’s a little tough at times because you’re re-living and talking about things that happened 9, 10 years ago. Also in a weird way, it was a little therapeutic. You know, talking about it and getting excited about this book. She was very, very helpful, and she’s an amazing writer.
What is your reaction to the naysayers and haters who are wondering why you wrote a book?
I’ve learned, especially from Chad, that controversy is good. Nothing phases him and he’s like, 'Why do you care?' I’ve learned a lot of him: the more popular and more successful you become, the more haters and the more attorneys you need [laughs].
How do you develop a tough skin for that?
You can’t do this and be sensitive. For example, you know Suzie [Ketcham], she gets a lot of shit from the show. After she films the show, she doesn’t watch it or go on Twitter. She’s like, 'I don’t know how you deal with it.' I’ve accepted that this is a part of my life and apart of my world now. The more the show became popular, and I started dating Chad, and I got engaged to Chad, it’s been like chaos. I’m never going to hide and I’m always one of those people that say TV can be a gift and a curse, and at the same time it’s opened up a lot of doors for me that I never would have imagined. I can look at [the show] and say, Maybe I shouldn’t have handled it like that. Maybe I shouldn’t have thrown that bottle at Kenya, you know what I mean? If I’m blessed to be on TV for another five seasons, you won’t see Evelyn doing that. I’ve learned from that situation. Me and Tami do get a lot of heat because we are straight forward and in your face and controversial. It's not always positive, but I know we can look back and say, ‘You know what, bitch, that wasn’t cool.’
What other lessons have you learned from the show through watching yourself?
Just to probably listen. Everyone always says it on the show, 'Evelyn goes from 0-10.' And that’s how I’ve always been since I was 13. Where I grew up, most people wouldn’t say, Okay, let's have a conversation. That’s not the way things were dealt with where I grew up. You running your mouth? You talking shit? Things happen. There’s consequences for that. I’ve learned it’s not all about screaming and yelling and, 'Oh, you’re a fucking bitch.' Most of the time I don’t get my point across.
So Basketball Wives has been kind of like an anger management tool for you?
Yeah, it has. I was born and raised in the Bronx and went to public school in Manhattan. New York is a hustle and bustle type of place, you're in cab getting cursed out and everyone is so high-strung. You're always on defense mode. I love New York; I wouldn’t take anything back, but you become a little aggressive [Laughs].
How did you handle the reactions for your VIBE cover?
You know, you have those people that love you and think that everything you do is great then there are those who are like why did they put these girls on here they aren’t role models. I think that goes hand in hand with not really caring what people say. I would like to put a camera in your house for 2 months and see what I capture. People only know Evelyn from the show, they don’t know me fro outside the show, and that’s why I’m happy I was blessed with another opportunity because you get to see all of that. You get to see me with the family, Chad with the family, our kids, the issues we are having. It’s two totally different shows and two totally different things that the world will get to see when it comes to me. I wasn’t really to bothered, I kind of knew that it was going to happen, everybody has their opinion. But for me its been a good response, people love the cover and how the photos came out so that’s pretty cool.
In your last chat with Jen, a lot was said. Could you ever move forward into a space where you could at least be in the same room with her?
I think so. A lot was happening during that time. I’m one of those people, I said some things and I was just like, that was not cooI. I live by loyalty and I feel like at that point I broke the friend code. I should have never broken that code and I should have never stooped down to that level. Like, if she wants to do interviews and slick comments, it is what it is. I don’t hate her. People just get caught up in this industry; you do interviews and say certain things. I truly don’t wish her anything negative, we’ve gone through a lot together as friends from moving out, men drama, all types of stuff. It's just tough having to relive it then talk about it. You never have that time for healing. But now that the show is done and things are calming down, I’m not angry anymore about it and I don’t hate her at all. I don’t really hate anybody, I was just upset how things were handled.
Do you miss her or the friendship?
I miss her. We were friends for 10 years. I was in her wedding, so you know yeah, and your thinking you guys are going to do this show together, your BFF, and then your kind of like what happened? And we are mutual friends with a lot of people, so everything else became weird energy. It was tough.
Now, Shaunie's been taking a lot of heat too. What are your thoughts on that?
I’ve had conversations with Shaunie, and she is in a tough place because she wears all hats, she’s Executive Producer, a cast mate, friend to us...it’s just tough because you're being pulled from every angle. I can honestly say that from season 1, Shaunie has been an advocate to find a balance. We filmed a charity event for kids with cancer and it was the most amazing charity event that I’ve ever went to. Even the camera men, grown men, were crying. But it didn’t make the cut and they chose to air the part with me calling someone a fucking bitch instead. She’s an Executive Producer, but she doesn’t know what tapes are being sent to VH1; she doesn’t know everything that is going on. But I can guarantee you that it will look different and not only because of all the controversy, but because she’s been working so hard to find a balance.

JENNIFER WILLIAMS OFFICIALLY QUITS BASKETBALL WIVES!! ... NOT QUITE YET
Not that I am at all surprised but Jennifer Williams officially QUIT "Basketball Wives Miami". It is really unfortunate, because I'm not sure what Jennifer will parlay this opportunity into that has given her much of her fame anyway. Granted the drama with her and Evelyn Lozada was quite a bit unbearable every episode of this season, but girl stand your ground. Jennifer tells Vibe Vixen where her head is now and what she would like to see happen:

TAMEKA RAYMOND SNACKS ON POPCORN IN COURT SHOW DOWN
Usher Raymond, and his ex Tameka Raymond are in a heavy court battle over their children. The worst thing of all is that it's really gotten ugly but Tameka seems to be a little amused at the fact that she is making Usher hurt. It reminds me of my previous blog this week when I posted a story on Nas's interview with Complex Magazine. Nas detailed some of the issues in his post break-up with Kelis, explaining that a lot of bitterness, and bickering from break ups come when people aren't necessarily hating you; but they desire to make you hurt as much as they do.
Usher blasted his ex-wife in court today -- testifying that Tameka Foster flew into a jealous rage, hitting him, throwing food, and worst of all ... spitting on his girlfriend.
Usher took the stand in his ongoing child custody trial with his ex, and under questioning by his attorney, revealed how Tameka once went ballistic and "wanted to fight" ... when he showed up at her house with his new sidepiece.
Ush testified Tameka walked to his car and said, "I'm gonna kick your ass. Bitch get out of the car. How dare you bring this woman into my subdivision in my house?"
He added, "She continued to spit. At this point she pulled the door open, tried to swing at her."
Usher claims he had to get out of the car and block Tameka ... who then hit him. Usher said he pleaded with Tameka to calm down, but claims "she threw a plate of food at the car" ... as he fled the situation.
You gotta hear Usher describe the intense showdown -- and remember, Tameka previously testified she once told the gf, "I will f**k you up."

CHECK OUT AMERICA'S NEW ROLE MODEL'S... EVELYN LOZADA, CHRISSY LAMPKIN, TAMAR BRAXTON & MORE......
Evelyn Lozada, Kandi Burruss, Tamar Braxton and Chrissy Lampkin from the reality shows that has garnered much hype in-part because of its drama are gracing Vibe magazine’s June/July 2012 Sexy Issue with the tagline “Meet Your New Role Models.”Kandi of “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Tamar of “Braxton Family Values,” Evelyn of “Basketball Wives,” and Chrissy of “Love and Hip Hop” (who may not be returning) all showcase their sexy sides in black scantily clad outfits with spilling buxom on the cover.
Star Jones started a petition, lashing out against women and violence on reality TV. What’s your reaction?
Evelyn: [Bursts into laughter] I think she’s going to have to get a whole lot of names. Actually, I like the petition and I like the controversy because I’ve learned controversy is good. But I think she’s irrelevant. And she’s using our coattails to get relevant again. Nobody gives a f*ck about her.
Do any of you see yourselves as role models?
Chrissy: I guess if somebody is afraid to speak their mind and wanna stand up for themselves, then yes. I want people to realize that they can have whatever they want. You can be respected in your relationship exactly the way you want to be. It’s up to you to go get it. Some of the stuff is a little heavy, but you’re not going to be exposed to crazy situations in life just by watching reality TV. You can go to the corner store and see crazy shit going on. You can go to school and see crazy shit. Don’t put it all on me.
Kandi: You would never imagine how many people come up to me on the street: “How could you be a part of that? It’s a disgrace to Black people.” I’m on a show called Real Housewives and I’m not married so I guess I represent single mothers out there who are handling their business and trying to take things to the next level. So when people say, “You shouldn’t be on the show, it’s like, “Well, who do you want to go on there? More people you don’t like?”
So you’re saying the producers orchestrated the violence?
Chrissy: Absolutely. They would go as far as telling the new girl, “Chrissy thinks she’s Queen Bee around here so we need you to step up because nobody here has a strong enough personality. We need you to shut it down.” They were feeding people this negative energy from the door. I have no reason to lie.
What surprised you most about the reality TV experience?
Kandi: Being a part of Housewives brought me so many opportunities that I would’ve never imagined. With the Kandi Factory spin-off, it was a dream of mine to be on one of those shows developing artists, and here it is, I [have] my own show.
Evelyn: For me, it was that so many people cared. They’re so emotionally involved and interested with what’s going on in your life. I watch shows but I’m never like, “Let me find this person’s Twitter or Facebook page so I can comment.” Even before the show it just wasn’t me. But people get so emotionally involved with what you’re doing, what you’re saying, what you’re wearing, how you handle this situation, so that surprised me. You think everyone watches TV the way you watch TV.
Well, Evelyn, you especially invoke a lot of emotion. On television, you seem as passionate as your fans are about you.
Tamar: True.
Evelyn: When I first signed on to the show, I said I’m going to be me whether the cameras are on or off. So you’ll see me crying, you’ll see me fighting, you’ll see me happy. You get to see everything. I think I show every aspect of who Evelyn is. Of course people only remember those moments when I happen to be…

Evelyn: Yeah, happen to be throwing a few things. It’s frustrating because, on the other hand, I’ve also done positive things like charities with kids. It’s unfortunate because those things don’t seem to mean anything.
Chrissy: It bothers me [too] because it’s not all of who I am. It’s a part of who I am. It’s also something that I’m working on because who am I to put my hands on somebody else?
Tamar: I just wanna address the biggest misconception with Evelyn. She’s not just beautiful on the outside; she’s a beautiful soul. I believe that people who want to make a difference in our community should be shown [doing so]. Sometimes, with our shows, you only see that [negative] side, but Evelyn will give you the shirt off of her back.
Evelyn: It’s tough because if we were only doing positive things, people wouldn’t want us. But if I say, “Tamar, you’re a stupid fucking bitch,” people love that.
Kandi: That’s because we’re a real life soap opera. You know how your family watched All My Children for 20 years? That’s what we are now.

Would consider any of the reality take-no-prisoners ladies role models?
Even though, this was obviously meant to be a joke... are these woman really becoming what younger women, or women in general have to look up to? Is it right? Is television orchestrating negative stereo-types about women, and most importantly Black woman? Are our little girl's thinking this behavior is the norm as long as the check is right?. What does differentiate this from soap-opera's we all watched growing up? Are these woman responsible to be role models?

WILL SLAPS UKRAINIAN REPORTER
"Will Smith just slapped a Ukrainian reporter across the face at the Moscow premiere of "Men in Black 3" -- and it was all caught on tape.
The Ukrainian reporter tries to kiss Will on the lips on the red carpet and the actor angrily pushes him away and then backhands him across the face.
You can clearly see that Will is incredibly pissed that the guy showed overt affection toward him.
After Will slaps the guy, Will says, "He's lucky I didn't sucker punch him."
How weird?? Also considering all the gay rumors that have swirled around Will these past few years, this might have been a tad bit uncomfortable. I mean why would the guy kiss him?"

She continued her dominance in the ’80s with “She Works Hard for the Money” and “This Time I Know It’s for Real.”Summer and her producer Giorgio Moroder defined the dance music era of the ’70s and influenced acts like Duran Duran and David Bowie to enter the genre.

I'm not sure what direction the show will be going in after this, but there are talks of some new shows, or some restructuring of the programming on BET. BET has done their best to keep music as their central programming for years. 106 & Park followed the foot-steps of many music shows of our time, and I hope it continues.

"Usher's ex-wife Tameka Foster will be out on the street in less than 60 days -- if Usher wants it that way. Sources tell us, the couple -- who's trying to settle a custody dispute -- is deadlocked in mediation, and the biggest bone of contention is Usher's Georgia mansion.
Tameka's currently living there -- but under the divorce settlement Usher can sell the property whenever he wants, as long as he gives her a 60-day heads up.
We're told Tameka fears Usher will definitely sell the home -- leaving her buried in legal debt with no place to live -- so she's asking him for a permanent home for her and Usher's kids.
Usher's response .... He says he's already paid her enough."
This has been one of the nastiest break -ups of all time. I know Usher must be pretty pissed at everything that has went down in their separation, but at the end of the day his kids need a place to live. Do it for them Usher.
